Materials: 160-220gsm paper, knife (or cutting machines), double-sided tape, 5mm thick foam board, led light.
Steps:
1 – Cut the paper.
2 – Fold the paper along the dashed line.
3 – Stick the box with 2-sided tape (4 layers are 4 boxes).
4 – Stick the spacer to the bottom of each layer (the spacer thickness is 5 mm).
5 – Nest 4 layers together.
6 – Light up!

Watch the video and you’ll see the innermost layer (layer 4) is pasted with a thin layer of paper, it helps the light to be more evenly distributed.
What is this thin layer of paper?
1 – You can use 70gsm paper (common printing paper for writing).
2 – The best is Tracing Paper (Vellum Paper) or Butter Paper (other names are Parchment Paper, Wax paper, Baking Paper). It has great thinness (as the photo below).
The order of the paper layers is displayed in a PNG or PDF file.
Each 5-sided light box has 4 layers of paper (1, 2, 3, 4).
Each paper layer consists of 5 sides (a, b, c, d, e).

– Thickness: 5mm
– Materials: foam board, straws, foam, etc…
Each 5-sided template has 4 layers of paper with twelve 5mm thick spacers, consisting of:
– 4 spacers 9.5cm long
– 4 spacers 8.5cm long
– 4 spacers 7.5cm long
Suggested light base
Make a box and put the led light into it.
Specifically in this photo: Using the foam board (or paperboard, or wood) create a box, then place the led light inside it.
